No real matter what shape you select for a table, you should allow at least three feet between the table edge and an obstruction such as a server or wall. This provides sufficient space for people to move surrounding the table, and in and out off their seats. On the other hand, more than six feet remaining between one wall or obstruction and the table means that the set is too small.
Fill up your dining room remodel with a statement light fixture, some inspirational artwork and a large mirror to reflect more light throughout the room. Lastly, don't forget the dining room table decor! A seasonal centerpiece, table runner or plant arrangement can immediately brighten up the entire space.
